Pro rally driver and all-around hoon Ken Block will compete in Rally America’s season opener in a Ford Fiesta rally car at this weekend’s Sno*Drift rally in northern Michigan.
Sure, the rally car is based on the Euro-spec hatchback that will make its way to our shores as the 2011 Ford Fiesta. But that’s where the similarities end. Block’s car has been heavily modified for rallying and employs a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine capable of making 490 hp, although it will be restricted to around 330 hp to comply with Rally America regulations.
Three similar Ford Fiestas came up victorious at last summer’s X Games Rally competition. DC Shoes co-founder Block formerly drove a Subaru WRX STI.
